Born in Mijas (Málaga), Irene Garrido begins her musical studies at the conservatory at the age of seven by specialty in piano. Later, she starts a double specialization of singing and piano which continues at present at the Superior Conservatory of Music of Málaga. Her activity and musical training are focused on the chant: She has attended classes of such notables as Carlos Aransay, Alicia Molina, Cristina Bayón, Cristina Koch, Bridget M. Clark, Ana Luisa Chova, Carlos Álvarez, Patrizia Pace and Laure Delcampe among others.
She is full member of the Opera Málaga Chorus. Of JOCONDE(Youth National Chorus of Spain) and the Youth Chorus of Andalucía, which she has had the opportunity to work different genres alongside directors of the statures of Michel Piquemal, Lluis Vilamajò, Carlos Aransay and Michael Thomas.
She has also done work as a soloist in several theatres of Andalucía and Murcia playing the role of Second Woman at the Opera in concert Dido and Aeneas, Mozart's Requiem, Symphony of Ludwigvan Beethoven, having received excellent reviews by the press.
Her musical curiosity has conducted her to embrace other genres beyond classical music: in 2013 she initiates her immersion in the repertoire jazz with Juan Ramón Veredas (Cello4qt, Tangoria...) y Ana Sánchez Navas (Jazztease), thanks those who have the opportunity to sing jazz’s standards with Big Band, giving concerts in Auditoriums such as Theatre Echegaray of Málaga. In this area, has recently joined to the Untenable Big Band as a main vocalist.
